Ex-AZ gubernatorial candidate ends up homeless in dating scam

It's truly a quite shocking story.

A former write-in candidate for Arizona governor ended up
homeless in Ukraine after getting sucked into an online
dating scam.

Cary Dolego, 53, ended up homeless on the streets of the Ukraine (yep, the COUNTRY) after selling everything he owned
to fly there and meet a woman he thought he'd been wooing
via the Web.

Social workers in Chernivtsi found Dolego about a week ago, living on the streets, homeless, hungry, and suffering from

Dolego, who ran for governor last year, sold his house and belongings in Queen Creek, Arizona, to meet and settle with
a Ukrainian woman he had met online. He thinks he was going
to marry her. But the woman, a doctor named Yulia, didn't
show up.

"We've heard lots of stories of Americans using Ukrainian dating services and hoping to find their future wives," U.S. Embassy spokesman Jim Wolf, told the Associated Press.

Yulia, who eventually made a cameo appearance, claims someone hacked into her account and exchanged e-mails with Dolego on
her behalf.

Heartbroken, Dolego will be back in the US soon, where he will
reunite with one of his grown children. Dolego says he's
enamored with the Ukraine and Ukrainian women and hopes to return one day.
